Talking of remixes, I also have a new one out for The Gulf Gate Project on their Toast & Jam Recordings label. Check out Silicon Soul (RuN RiOT Remix) on Soundcloud or Beatport.
To say thanks for your continued support I have put together a 3rd ‘Back to the Bassbins’ minimix and it’s FREE for you to download right here. It contains 49 tracks in 57 minutes ;) The track listing is up on Soundcloud.
New vid coming soon! TY
I’m back home after a long day shooting the final scene for my new music video. I have been lucky to have worked with some really talented people on my vids and I have no doubt this one will be boss too (you’ll be the judge). This is my forth video but the first one with me in it… unmasked anyway ;) It’s for the lead track to my new original EP called ‘Free If You Wanna Be’ and we shot it in London over two days. We spent the first day shooting along the river Thames and the second on the rooftop of a block of flats on the edge of the city. The rooftop scene was mad as we were getting battered by the wind and rain while we were setting everything up (I mean serious WIND). There was some panic too when my gear started to get wet!! Just as we thought we had picked the wrong day (again) the rain stopped and the sun came out…
It was a good laugh jumping around on a roof while the sun went down. My favourite bit though was when Mark the DOP (guy holding the camera in the top pic) lost his pants running down the middle Southwark bridge. Huge camera on his shoulder, pants down by his knees, legging it towards the oncoming traffic. Folks in their cars must have thought what the f*ck!! haha
Can’t wait to show you the finished vid. TY
Happy new year people! I hope you all had a good festive break and you’re ready for 2014. I put on weight and drank too much (standard). I also missed the countdown to the new year as I was in a corner shop buying a bottle… priorities!
I have two EPs coming out in the next couple of months and I can’t wait for you to hear them (I always say this but it’s the truth!). The first is my ‘Kill Them: REMIXED‘ EP, which features big remixes from Pyramid, Kid Kenobi, Karton and Farace, along with one that I have done myself. It is set for a February release and I will be uploading previews over the next few weeks on my SoundCloud page. The second is my brand new original 4-track EP named ‘Free If You Wanna Be‘, featuring vocals from MC Lomax and Doll. If you’re into Instagram you can check out a cheeky snippet here. I am about to begin shooting the video for the lead track and get things rolling on the promo front. More info on this one soon!
In the meantime, Zeskullz have made a storming remix of my tune ‘Everybody Needs a Bassline2‘, which you can grab on iTunes & Beatport now. Here’s the blurb…
We Are Live favourites Zeskullz are back with a brand new remix of a RuN RiOT classic. The Russian duo have been causing a storm on Steve Aoki’s Dim Mak label recently and they have done it again with this bass heavy Breaks/Trap monster!
‘Everybody Needs A Bassline2′ was originally released back in 2010 and helped RuN RiOT to grab Best New Producer at the International Breakbeat Awards. iDJ Magazine called it a “highly original powerslam of a track”, while it gained heavyweight DJ support from the likes of Crookers, Laurent Garnier, The Crystal Method and Far Too Loud.
Also, if you missed my latest freebie you can download it here. It’s a collab with fellow Breaks producer Refracture and it’s gained almost 20k spins on Soundcloud already ;)
Lastly, my video for Upon Your Enemy has made the Spring Showcase of the American Online Film Awards and picked up another Official Selection at the Macon Film Festival. I’m chuffed that all of the hard graft and love that the team put in to making it is paying off!
Stay classy. TY
With my Kill Them EP jumping back into the Beatport Breaks 100 this week I thought I’d give it a wee post! It features Doll, Benji Webbe of Skindred, COPPA & Derek Meins and some people said some nice things…
“Uncategorizable masterpiece” NoisePorn
“Searing saw bass from the chart topping RuN RiOT!” Trackitdown
“5 blistering tracks” Planet Mosh
“Energetic, fierce and raw” Hit the Floor Magazine
“Face-scrunchingly gorgeous” Funkatech
We made two videos, which have picked up Official Selections at a number of film fests including the UK Film & London Short Film festivals. Check them out…
OUT NOW on Skint Records and you can grab it from all good stores!
